Eric Hodgdon is a Coach, Trainer, Amazon Bestselling Author, TEDx Speaker, and Zoi's Dad.
Eric started guiding others through the journey of grief soon after his 15-year old daughter Zoi died in early 2014. He found a way to get back up and doesn't want one more person to have to struggle alone in their grief.
Eric has published an Amazon Bestselling book A Sherpa Named Zoi, has stood on a TEDx stage to share his story that inspires others to get back up from their grief. And, he has coached hundreds of women and men to live beyond the loss of their loved ones.
Eric's role as a Corporate IT leader spanned 25 years. He loved raising his two daughters, Arminda and Zoi.
As the very first success story for the popular exercise program, P90X, Eric felt compelled to become a Beachbody partner so that he could create a life by his design and leave the corporate world behind and spend more time with Arminda and Zoi. Eric enjoyed both the personal development aspect being a partner, but more importantly, he enjoyed coaching others in the creation of their own business.
However, life has other plans and in early 2014, Zoi took her life. It was the single most challenging setback that Eric had experienced.
Early on, Eric focused on supporting Zoi's friends and family. After some time navigating his grief, Eric returned to his coaching business, however, something had changned. He felt like he had to start all over again...
Eric loved raising his two daughters, Arminda and Zoi (pictured in the middle). But, life has other plans and in early 2014, Zoi took her life. It was the single most challenging setback that Eric had experienced. Early on his grief journey, Eric focused on getting a support structure in place so that he could survive the loss.
For several years after Zoi's death, Eric continued to mentor Zoi's friends and family and build his business through the Beachbody partner program.
In 2016 Eric joined 3 mentorship programs that were pivotal in his life. The first, to learn how to share his story from the stage. The second, to be the most relevant leader for others struggling with grief. And third, to learn entrepreneurship from the ground up.
At the same time, more and more adults were coming to him for guidance and coaching through their grief. And, some were entrepreneurs.
In 2017, Eric founded Resilience Leaders, and organization dedicated to coaching speaking and training others to navigate grief. Eric was invited to speak on several stages and coach corporate leaders on how to navigate setbacks.
In late 2017, Eric left corporate America to focus fully on building Resilience Leaders.
Eric continued to create a pathway through his grief. And through coaching others, Eric discovered his key framework to helping others navigate Grief:
SURVIVE • GET UP • LIVE BEYOND LOSS
In Mid-2018, Eric hosted his very first Get UP 8 Live workshop in Boston, MA. While the workshop was a success, Eric had not anticipated another setback: this time a financial one... The day after the workshop, Eric opened his bank account and saw that he had a total of $75 to his name! No savings, No 401k...
Facing this setback like any other, Eric committed to getting back in the game ASAP. Despite having to work IT Contracts for the next several months, Eric found that this gave him the runway to reset, reframe and re-engage with Resilience Leaders.
And, through all of the grief and setbacks in business, in the fall of 2018, Eric stood on the TEDx stage for the first time to share how you can get up after sudden setbacks in your life too...
Eric created a pathway through his grief. He found a way to get back up from losing Zoi and began to train in telling his story from the stage so that he could begin helping others how to get back up from their losing loved ones in their life. In 2018, Eric stood on a TEDx stage and shared his story.
Eric has continued to build Resilience Leaders over the years. Navigating setbacks and other losses, Eric uses his framework every time he faces a setback now.
Fast forward to 2022. Eric has expanded Resilience Leaders to help struggling entrepreneurs to navigate their losses and get back in the game, fast.
Eric continues to coach, train and speak on grief. He also continues to walk with men and women on their grief journey, so that they can survive, get back up and live beyond the loss of their loved ones too.

In the midst of his grief, Eric wasn't sure HOW he was going to survive this loss of Zoi.
And when he created Resilience Leaders, he began to see parallel situations in business that were present in other losses in his life, including his divorce, several job layoffs, and fianancial challenges...
and it left more questions than answers...
But, when Zoi's friends asked Eric "What are we supposed to do with this?" he knew he had to create a pathway not only for himself, but for them as well.
Without realizing it at first, Eric created a support structure for himself, and then shared that with Zoi's friends and others including entrepreneurs.
Here's the thing: We are business owners, but we are human, first...
He then began to find new ways to continuously find support, get back up, and connect with others, which helped him cope so that he could continue to carry on and help others...
After realizing I AM A FUNNEL BUILDER, I was able to earn a Two Comma Club award building a funnel for someone else's offer instead of my own! This lead to the Creation of Funnel Builders where Greg now shares his knowledge of BUILDING FUNNELS with all of our Certified FUNNEL BUILDERS!
In the midst of his grief, Eric wasn't sure HOW he was going to survive this loss.
It was sudden... It was unexpected... and it left more questions than answers...
